Good day family and friends,
I write to you with some exciting news! God as called me to spend two weeks in Honduras doing mission work. More specifically, I’ll be joining the team from Oasis, a college and young adult ministry here in Brookings, for two weeks starting May 18th.
I don’t entirely know why he wants me to go, but I have a few ideas. First, I’ve been called to share love of God with those we will meet in Honduras, and to share how great God is and the lilfe he offers. I also feel that God is going to use this trip to challenge me and stretch me, something that will be life changing, something that will be preparing me for my continuous work here in the States.
There about 18 others on the team, many of whom are new acquaintances in my life and I look forward to getting to know them better. I write to you for two reasons. The first, I ask that you would pray for myself, my team mates, as well was those we will be interacting with. Our purpose is to share the love of God with those we meet. Please be praying that God would speak through our words and actions there, that he would be glorified through us. Pray that God will use us to build up his kingdom
Secondly, I am short about $400 for the trip. Originally, the calculated cost of the trip was $1600. That was enough to keep me from signing up for the trip. Thankfully, God provided $1000 of that money within a week. Praise God! Later, we found cheaper tickets and the cost was reduced an additional $200. God is faithful and I know He will provide the remaining funds. I ask that you would prayerfully consider contributing financially to the trip. Money raised above the need amount will go to support the others on the trip, or to the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship chapter here on SDSU to support myself and other students going to chapter camp.
Thank you.
I’ll be keeping a blog about my experience as well. You can find it at the website listed below. It will be hard to find Internet access while actually in Honduras, but I will be posting both before and after the trip.
May all Glory be to God the Father, peace and grace to you,
Adam Lepp
